Cookie Policy — Monaco Lux Yachts
Last updated:
This page explains how the website cookzeweb.com, operated under the brand Monaco Lux Yachts for yacht and boat charters from Monaco, handles cookies, browser storage and the technical requests made when a page loads. It is written for anyone browsing the site, whether to look at our fleet or to send a charter enquiry, and should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
We have kept this page factual and specific to what actually happens on our site, rather than listing technologies we do not use.
Storage used on this site
- Cookie notice preference
- Local storage entry recording that you closed the cookie notice. No expiry date is set by us; it remains until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected yacht (form prefill)
- Session storage entry recording which yacht you clicked on, so the enquiry form can be pre-filled with the right vessel. Deleted automatically when the tab is closed or once you submit the form.
- Visit measurement identifiers
- Local storage entry holding randomly generated visitor and session identifiers, used only by our own first-party measurement script. Expires 30 days after your last visit and can be cleared at any time in your browser.
- Google Fonts
- Request made to Google's servers to load the typefaces used on the site. Google receives your IP address as part of this request. No cookie is set on our behalf.
- intl-tel-input (jsDelivr CDN)
- Script loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network to format the phone number field in our enquiry forms. The CDN receives your IP address as part of the request. No cookie is set on our behalf.
Cookies, in plain terms
A cookie is a small file that a browser can be asked to keep so a site recognises a returning visitor. Local storage and session storage serve a similar purpose but are kept inside the browser itself rather than sent back and forth with every request; session storage disappears when the tab is closed, while local storage stays until it is cleared or it expires.
cookzeweb.com sets no cookies of its own. We do not install Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising networks or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracker. The only tracking-style technology on the site is a short piece of first-party code that counts visits on our own behalf, described below.
Measuring visits ourselves
To understand which pages and channels bring genuine charter enquiries, we run our own visit-counting script, served from our own domain rather than from a third party. It records which pages were viewed, time spent on each page, the referring website, any campaign parameters present in the link (such as UTM tags or an advertising click identifier), device type, browser, operating system, screen size and browser language, together with a country derived from the IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
This script relies on two randomly generated identifiers, a visitor identifier and a session identifier, held in the local storage entry described in the table above. They expire 30 days after your last visit and contain no name, email address or other contact detail. If you send an enquiry or tap a phone or WhatsApp link, that action is linked to the same visit so we can see which channel led to it; this link is kept in our booking system, not in a cookie.
Storage kept in your browser
Besides the visit-measurement identifiers, the site keeps two small entries directly in your browser. One remembers that you have already seen and closed the cookie notice, so it is not shown again on every page. The other, kept only for the current browsing session, remembers which yacht you clicked on so that the enquiry form opens pre-filled with the right vessel; it disappears as soon as the tab is closed or once the form is submitted. None of these entries holds your name, email address or any other contact detail.
Requests made to external providers
A small number of resources are fetched from outside our own servers so that the site displays and functions correctly. Web fonts are retrieved from Google Fonts; loading them involves a request to Google's servers, which receives your IP address in the process. The phone-number field in our enquiry forms uses the intl-tel-input library, loaded from the jsDelivr content delivery network, which likewise receives your IP address when the script is fetched. Neither of these providers sets a cookie for us, and neither is used for advertising or analytics on our behalf.
The WhatsApp buttons on our site do nothing on their own: tapping one simply opens a WhatsApp chat pre-filled with a short message. Before that click, nothing is set or sent to WhatsApp; after the click, the conversation takes place on WhatsApp, operated by Meta under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Controlling storage and future changes
Every modern browser lets you view, block or delete local storage, session storage and cookies through its settings, usually under a privacy or site data section. Clearing storage for cookzeweb.com will remove the cookie-notice preference, the visit-measurement identifiers and any pending yacht selection; the enquiry form and the site itself will continue to work, though the form may no longer open pre-filled with a chosen yacht.
This page may be updated if the way the site works changes. Should we ever decide to introduce optional cookies, for example for marketing purposes, we will ask for your consent beforehand and explain exactly what they do. Questions about this page, or requests concerning your personal data, can be sent to [email protected]; we reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first. This page is drawn up with reference to Monaco's data protection law and the recommendations of the Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles (APDP), to which a complaint can be addressed directly.
